History Excursions for All Grades To Old Hobart Town at Richmond
Old Hobart town is an accurate miniature replica of Hobart as it was in the early 1820's and offers an ideal way to learn about and visualise Hobart and Tasmania's early history.
Since opening in 1991, every year we have provided historical tours to classes from over one third of Tasmania's state and private primary schools. In 1995 we began to offer opportunities to high schools and matriculation levels with a steadily growing demand. Our format is to provide a 10 - 15 minute introductory talk about Tasmania's early history followed by a 45-minute worksheet session under the school's supervision.
We have three levels of historical worksheets, or there is a fun type worksheet giving less emphasis on education. Upon booking confirmation, the appropriate sheets will be faxed to the teacher for modification and copying.
